As an artist, I created this abstract artwork as a representation of my emotional response to the current state of the world. The deep blue and blue-black tones in the piece symbolize the darkness and uncertainty that we face, while the soft sky tones and touch of yellow and white represent hope and the possibility of a brighter future.
I love the layering process and texture in this piece, which add depth and complexity to the artwork. The different glazes used in finishing the piece also enhance its overall look and feel. The use of reclaimed board is also important to me, as it reflects my commitment to sustainability and environmental consciousness.
Influenced by postwar Abstract Artists such as Lee Krasner, Perle Fine, and Grace Hartigan, I aimed to create a bold and expressive piece with dynamic brushstrokes and an overall abstract composition. This artwork is a powerful expression of my emotions and a reflection of the current state of the world. It is my hope that it can inspire hope and resilience in the face of challenging times.
