I love the depth achieved from the layering process and the surprises that arise in Assemblage. Layers of gesso as a base, some collage is added then boldly gestural layers of oil in different consistencies. This process helps make up bright movements of colour as they meander across the canvas. Assemblage is finished with varnish and wax to protect the ARTWORK and give an opulent look … a lot of punch for these smaller pieces

Inspiration:

My inspiration comes from the world around me, textures, colours, impressions, and suggestions. I am also inspired by Post-war abstraction, including Lee Krasner and Yayoi Kusama’s Infinity nets.
