After a career in fashion as a buyer and consultant, I discovered my passion for art through a fashion design drawing course and life drawing course. Surprisingly, the structure of these courses led me to embrace abstract compositions and the freedom of creative expression without boundaries. The layering process of my artwork adds depth and excitement, as each layer surprises me with its contribution to the final product. My inspiration comes from my surroundings and other artists, including Modigliani, Giacometti, and postwar abstractionists such as Perle Fines, Lee Krasner, and Grace Hartigan.

For over two decades, I have been creating chaotic and unique abstract expressionist works in my Auckland studio, using a variety of mediums such as building paper, ripped paper, fabric, wire, discarded tissue, and previous artworks. I apply gesso, acrylic paint, and oil to secure the materials and create texture, occasionally sanding and scraping the base to merge the layers. Fashion remains a source of inspiration, but my life experiences, moods, music, and gestures also influence my art.
